The Macleod Vegie Swap is held on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
It is held in the rotunda opposite the Macleod shops in Aberdeen Street. For GPS we are in the park opposite the newsagent at 62 Aberdeen Street.
Everyone is welcome whether they have swaps or not, as the main purpose of the Swap is to develop our community spirit. It is a great place to meet people and we look out for newcomers and introduce them to other people at the Swap. Swaps include fruit and vegetables, bunches of herbs and flowers, plants, seeds, preserves, eggs and a range of garden items. It’s a lot of fun, and is also a place to find out what else is going on in the community – from workshops to festivals and special events. October 2015 was the 4th anniversary of the Macleod Vegie swap.
In November 2015 we swapped the following: 40.5 kg of fruit and veg, 453 plants, 6 bunches of flowers, 83 bunches of herbs, 24 jars of preserves, 157 packets of seeds, 8 lots of chook poo fertilizer, water kaffir and egg cartons.
